History: FLL was established as Merle Fogg Field on May 1, 1929. In January 1948, Broward County assumed control of the facility, and in 1953, the County formally took ownership. Now, FLL serves more than 24 million passengers annually and offers over 300 daily flights across the US and to Europe, Canada, Caribbean, and Latin America.
